Is the Leica M8 worth it?

The Leica M8 is not worth it. The M9 is a much better camera with full frame and less issues. But if you are willing to put up with the problems, the M8 is much cheaper than the M9 and could be worth it depending on the right person.

Lenses for the Leica M8

Unlike every other M mount camera the M8 is different because it has a crop factor. Sitting uncomfortably between the 35mm M7 and the full-frame M9, you have the M8 with an APSH sensor. Not only was this sense extremely sensitive to ISO, it also had a 1.33x crop factor, essentially changing all of your lenses focal length.
